Introducing the Dot.Two Aero Element for the 997.1

The Porsche 997.1 has aged exceptionally well. Nearly two decades after its introduction, its proportions still feel right: compact, simple, and unmistakably 911.
But we’ve always felt there was an opportunity to give the front of the 997.1 Carrera a little more presence without changing what makes the car special.
That idea became the Dot.Two Aero Element for the 997.1 Carrera, Carrera S, Carrera 4, and Carrera 4S.
Bringing a Little 997.2 to the 997.1
The inspiration for the Aero Element actually started with the 997.2 factory Aero Kit.
Porsche’s Aero Kit gave the second-generation 997 a more aggressive front end without making the car look overly modified. It added depth, lowered the visual profile of the bumper, and gave the Carrera a subtle motorsport influence while still looking like something that belonged on the car from the factory.
That OEM+ approach is exactly what we wanted to bring to the 997.1.
Rather than replacing the entire bumper or dramatically changing the design of the car, the Dot.Two Aero Element works with the existing factory bumper. The goal was simple: create something that looks like it could have been a factory option for the 997.1.
It adds definition and visual depth to the center of the front bumper while maintaining the original lines that make the 997.1 so recognizable.
Designed Specifically for the 997.1
This isn't simply a 997.2 part adapted to fit an earlier car.
The Aero Element has been designed around the proportions and bumper opening of the 997.1 Carrera/S/4/4S, taking inspiration from the later Aero Kit while creating something specifically for the first-generation 997.
The result is a subtle change, but an intentional one.
From a distance, the car still looks like a 997.1. Up close, the front end has a little more depth, a little more aggression, and a more finished appearance.
Exactly what we wanted.
Made From ABS Resin
The 997.1 Aero Element will be produced from ABS resin, giving us the combination of strength, durability, detail, and finish we wanted for an exterior automotive component.
ABS is well suited for a part like this because it can handle the demands of regular automotive use while allowing us to produce the shape and surface quality necessary for a piece that integrates closely with the factory bumper.
Each Aero Element is designed to be finished and installed as part of the car rather than looking like an obvious aftermarket add-on.
Pre-Orders Are Opening
The Dot.Two 997.1 Aero Element is currently entering pre-production, and we are now accepting pre-orders.
Our current goal is to begin shipping in or around November 2026.
As with any new product entering production, that timeline may move slightly as we work through final production and quality-control steps. We'd rather take the additional time to get the part right than rush something out the door.
Pre-order customers will receive updates as production progresses and we get closer to the first shipment.
For us, this is also about more than launching another Porsche part.
What Dot.Two Is Becoming
The Aero Element is one piece of a much bigger idea for Dot.Two.
Our goal is to build Dot.Two into a lifestyle brand centered around the Porsche 997 platform and the early-2000s Porsche era as a whole.
The 997 sits in a unique place in Porsche history. It's modern enough to drive anywhere, but old enough to retain much of the simplicity, size, and character that made earlier 911s special. The same can be said for many Porsches from this period.
And we think the culture surrounding these cars deserves more attention.
That means Dot.Two won't stop with automotive parts.
We're building toward a brand that brings together automotive components, apparel, accessories and lifestyle goods, along with driving trips, events, rallies, and gatherings created specifically for people who love these cars.
Some products will make the cars better. Some will simply celebrate them. And some will give owners another excuse to get behind the wheel and actually use them.
The 997.1 Aero Element is another step in that direction.
